The Earth and Environmental Science Department at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT) invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in structural geology. We seek candidates with a strong track record of field-based research directed at the investigation of fundamental tectonic processes. Specific interests may include (but are not limited to) one or more of the following topics: active tectonics and hazards, remote sensing, seismogenic fault zone processes, ductile shear zone kinematics and petrology, thermochronology, surficial dating, thermo-kinematic or hazards modeling, and field method development. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a cutting-edge, externally funded research program and teach three classes per year.
New Mexico Tech, located in the central Rio Grande valley community of Socorro, specializes in science and engineering education and research, and has an enrollment of approximately 2000 undergraduate and graduate students.
