I would like to make the members of the list aware of a full-time, open-ended, position currently advertised in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Cardiff University.
This is a lecturer post (equivalent to Assistant Professor in the US), in the broadly defined field of Geo-environmental Hazards. This includes tectonic- and structure- related hazards.

Lecturer in Geo-environmental Hazards
As part of an on-going programme of investment and development, the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a lecturer in Geo-environmental Hazards. You should share our passion for high quality research-led teaching, including field-based learning. You will be able to contribute to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including both natural hazards and other environmental hazards that often arise from human impact on the Earth’s surface and resources. You will also supervise MSc and PhD thesis students.
The successful candidate must develop and sustain an internationally-recognised, externally-funded research programme addressing environmental/geohazards and their impacts. We are seeking candidates who complement our current research programme and who are able to integrate across existing areas of expertise. Current areas of research interest in the school at large include tectonics, geodynamics, magmatism, natural resource exploration, marine science, palaeoclimate, climate/environmental change, hydrology and hydrogeology, high-latitude and montane environments, and environmental/geohazards and their impacts.
You will join our lively and dynamic School which is internationally-recognised for its research and teaching. You will have an excellent academic research record, including quality peer-reviewed publications and the proven ability to secure external funding to support your research.

Salary: Ł33,797 - Ł40,322 per annum (Grade 6)
