Tenure-track faculty position - Lithospheric Dynamics & Evolution at Utah State University

Dear colleagues -

I am excited to share that the Department of Geosciences at Utah State University (USU), Logan, invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track position in Lithospheric Dynamics and Evolution.

We seek candidates who combine geophysical, geochemical, and/or geological observations to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary, and quantitative investigation of solid-Earth system science. We particularly welcome candidates with research focusing on the physics and physical-state properties of Earth materials, geophysical observation of active lithospheric dynamics, and/or metamorphic/igneous petrology.

Successful candidates will complement our Department’s current strengths and demonstrate outstanding potential for excellence in research and scholarly leadership through development of a vibrant, externally funded research program. Candidates are expected to contribute to our core undergraduate curriculum and teach graduate courses, as well as advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within our department and university. By the start date, candidates must have a Ph.D. in Geosciences or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred.

The Department of Geosciences actively seeks candidates committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and to promoting an environment of diversity and excellence through their research, teaching, and service. USU is an AA/EO employer. Members of under-represented groups, women, veterans, and candidates with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
